Window Energy Rating

Boutique Windows Doors Screens

In the same way that gas and electrical appliances can be rated for energy efficiency, the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS) rates the energy impact of windows in housing in Australia.

WERS rated residential windows have star ratings and percentage improvements to help with easy comparison of energy efficiency.

WERS commercial ratings deal with windows and window walls designed for commercial applications. Energy efficiency in commercial buildings is aimed at reducing heating, ventilation and air conditioning/cooling.

Saving Energy Around the Home

Up to 40 per cent of a home's energy used for cooling or heating is lost or gained through windows. This means that improving the thermal performance of windows reduces gas and electricity costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Solution: A&L

Nothing solves the problem of energy inefficiency better than double glazing doors and windows. In double glazed windows and doors, panes of glass are separated by air gaps, reducing heat transfer. Double glazing windows and doors helps block out over 70 per cent of the summer heat and insulate you from over 70 per cent of the winter cold.
